The senior class enjoyed a lovely walk around Ballyheerin today. We had a look at the two older national schools that were in Ballyheerin before the establishment of our present school in 1913. Every child in Ballyheerin NS from 2nd-6th class has a penpal in Chester College International School, located in the North of Spain. Chester language school is a boarding school with similar numbers to Ballyheerin NS. They are educated through English but we have learned a few Spanish words and phrases from them. Some of us have even taught our pen-pals some Irish words! We
