The senior class enjoyed a lovely walk around Ballyheerin today. We had a look at the two older national schools that were in Ballyheerin before the establishment of our present school in 1913. Our school community have been hard at work, from home. Spring is a busy time on our farms so the teachers of Ballyheerin National school are delighted and the children were able to juggle their school-work and all their farming jobs. Earlier this month, our pupils competed in FAI Spar Primary 5s competition. The pupils of Ballyheerin NS played very well, especially our 6th class players who represented our school in this competition for the final time. We are all very proud of them. There were alot of interesting and famous faces in our school yesterday. The children and staff dressed up as characters from their favourite books 📚. All the children presented their favourite book to the whole school. The children even went book ‘speed dating’ where they had 3min to tell their ‘book date’ all about their favourite book before moving on to their next book
What a fantastic day we had today!🌹The children got to wear their jersey or tracksuits and were challenged to stay active for the whole day. We played games, we had races, we learned a new dance and we even went for a lovely walk. The children in the senior class made special Valentine’s buns for all which we really appreciated after all that activity.
The pupils of Ballyheerin NS are practicing yoga and meditation this term. Our school purchased new yoga mats in January and both the junior and senior class enjoy regular yoga and meditation sessions throughout the week. Both the Senior and Junior Class have learned and mastered many different yoga poses in the past few weeks and both classes have enjoyed the benefits of quiet
