Welcome back to school ! As we begin our new school year we’d like to welcome all of the children, teachers and staff back to school. We hope you all had a fantastic Summer holiday and we look forward to a great year ahead!

Ballyheerin NS is still open for Enrolment throughout the school year. We would be delighted to welcome any new children aged 4-12 to our school. Call 074 9159526.

Class Teachers for the school year 2018/2019 are:

Junior Class: Múinteoir Aoife McElwaine ( Gráinne Corry will return in November)

Senior Class: Múinteoir Aoife Cleary ( Aoife McElwaine in November)

Special Education Teachers: Múinteoir Máire McClafferty & Múinteoir Roisín McCauley

Secretary: Fidelma Heraghty

We would like to welcome Múinteoir Aoife Cleary to our school. We hope she enjoys her time teaching in Ballyheerin school. Aoife will be teaching the Senior class until Gráinne returns, then Aoife McElwaine will return as Senior class teacher.

School Books: The school has purchased all of your child’s school books, including copybooks. Cost per child: Junior class €50, Senior class €55. Money due before the end of September.

School Holidays:

Term 1: Halloween 25th Oct-5th Nov ; Christmas 21st Dec – 7th Jan

Term 2: Midterm 21st & 22nd Feb ; Bank Holiday 18th March; Easter 12th April – 29th April

Term 3: Bank Holidays 6th May & 3rd June ; Summer Closing 25th June

School Times: School begins each morning at 9:20am. Doors will be locked at 9:30am. School finishes for Infants at 2pm and for all other children at 3pm. Children should be collected from the side gate at the Church carpark. Junior Infants will finish at 12pm each day from 31st Aug – 7th Sept.

Healthy lunch: We have a healthy food policy in Ballyheerin NS. Children who eat well have a much more productive and happy day in school. A copy of our food policy is available in the office.

Uniform: We have a Uniform Box in the office where you can leave/take second-hand uniforms at any time. It would be great to get more second-hand items for our uniform box.

Thank you: A special thanks to Damien O’Doherty , our caretaker, who looked after the school during the Summer and who has it looking so tidy, clean and fresh, both inside and out! We really appreciate it Damien! Go raibh maith agat!
