Pinocchio

Pinocchio at the Grianán Theatre – the whole school travelled to the Grianán Theatre in Letterkenny to see the production of Pinocchio, performed by local Donegal young people. It was a refreshing change from our usual visit to the panto and we thoroughly enjoyed the performance. We also enjoyed stopping at the shop on the way home to get a goodie or two !!

Christmas Has Got Talent

The children performed Christmas Has Got Talent for a huge crowd of parents, grandparents and neighbours. The children’s performance was superb – great acting, singing and dancing. The children also played some Christmas music on their fiddles, piano and tin whistles, as well as singing Christmas carols. We were very proud of each of you. Well done – each one of you a star!

Dance & Gymnastics lessons

The children really enjoy their Dance & Gymnastics classes with Teresa. It helps them to become fitter, more flexible and healthier. Thank you so much to Teresa from Rinka for the very structured, yet lots of fun lessons.

Coffee Morning

Our school hosted a lovely Coffee Morning as a fundraiser in aid of the Bridget McGinley fund. Children, Parents, Staff and locals all worked together to create a lovely café style atmosphere in our school. There was a fantastic spread of food, beautiful flowers on tables, a children’s shop, guess the weight of the cake and lots more. We all thoroughly enjoyed the morning.

Fancy Dress

The children all dressed up for Halloween. We were so impressed by the costumes, many of which were made at home, by hand. Thank you to all of the parents for helping their children to create such interesting ( and scary) costumes. We also enjoyed playing Halloween games and listening to Halloween traditions.

Dental Hygiene

We had a visit from our Dental Hygienist who talked to all of the children. She explained in detail how to brush our teeth properly and gave everyone a new toothbrush. We’ll all be trying our best now to brush our teeth in the morning and at night-time and to spend at least 2 minutes brushing them.

Autumn Clean – Up

We had an Autumn Clean-up of the area surrounding the school. This co-incided with the Fanad Clean Coast clean up of the Fanad peninsula. The children have found that our pervious clean-ups are paying off, and that there is less rubbish along the roads since our last clean up in April. Our message is Please Don’t Litter. Reuse, Reduce, Recycle.

Music Lessons

Music lessons take place in the school each Wednesday. The children have the opportunity to learn how to play the Tun Whistle, the Piano, the Fiddle and the Accordion. They also take part in singing class. It is a great opportunity for the children, and any musical skills they acquire, they will have them for life.

7- aside Soccer

A huge well done to our Senior 7- aside soccer to team who travelled to Ballyare to take part in the inter-schools 7-aside soccer tournament. The children performed to the best of their ability and enjoyed some good games of football. Thank you so much also to our teachers, coach and parents who travelled along to give their support. It is really appreciated. Maith
