GAA Sports Day

Thank you so much to Margaretta & all at Gaeil Fhánada CLG for organising yet another successful Sports Day for all of the schools in Fanad. The children from Ballyheerin school enjoyed the day, especially getting the opportunity to get to know the other children in the area. Go raibh maith agaibh Gaeil Fhánada CLG.

Brickz 4 Kids

The children enjoyed using lego and batteries to create motorised vehicles. It was lots of fun!

LEGO® based education programmes have proven to be a very effective method of introe hop provides children of all ages with a fun and educational way to develop their understanding of engineering principles.

Bricks 4 Kidz proprietary model builds, which have all been designed by engineers, are accompanied by lesson plans which explain the concept of engineering to the children. These age appropriate workshops will enable your pupils to estimate, observe, predict, measure and record their findings during the model construction, with a wide range of different builds including bridges, wind turbines, cars, satellites, chameleons and many more.

Athletics

The children were very excited about having a coach from Cranford AC in our school to do Athletics training with them. These lessons took place weekly for 6 weeks. Thank you so much to Jerry and Dympna for the great lessons. The children really enjoyed them.

Confirmation

Two of our students are receiving their Confirmation this year at Kilmacrennan chapel.

The Service of light taking place on 29th January 7pm in Kilmacrennan school.

Confirmation taking place on 10th Feb at 12pm at Kilmacrennan chapel.

Minister for Education & Skills Joe McHugh TD, a visit

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Minister for Education & Skills Joe McHugh TD to our Christmas Service in Leatbeg Church. It was a privilege to have him in attendance to see how wonderful our small school community are. The children read the story of Christmas and sang hymns. Thank you to Rev David Griscome and the Church of Ireland community for hosting our Christmas Service and also for the yummy treats, including home-made mince pies afterwards!
