Reading Buddy Programme

Children from junior infants to 1st have been enjoying a reading buddy programme with children from 2nd- Sixth Class. They read lots and lots of books over the six week period!

St. Colmcille Project

Comhghairdeas ó chroí to the senior class who were awarded a prize for their St. Colmcille project. We are delighted that the children’s creativity and unique energy stood out among hundreds of entries. There was alot of work involved with the project but the 5 children in the senior class are multi-talented!


Shoebox Appeal

What a way to kick start the Christmas spirit in our school! Thank you to all the families for the amazing effort. We will be receiving an update on where our boxes go from Patricia McKemey, who collected our boxes this evening!


🍊 Still Life 🍎

The senior class have been working hard at drawing what they see in front of them, to shade the darkness and to show light. We have been setting up a still lifes in the centre. Our class have enjoyed drawing our still life from different perspectives! The senior class have also been experimenting with oil pastels and how to blend colours!

We are very proud of our senior class. The pupils have collaborated in order to enter a competition to celebrate the life and legacy of St. Colmcille. The senior class have been learning about the local, natural fauna of our local environment. We have learned to identify and name various trees and bushes that are growing near our school by examining the shapes and colours of berries, flowers and leaves. STEAM Week in Ballyheerin!

The junior and senior class celebrated STEAM Week remotely this year! Múinteoir Róisín put a really fun timetable of activities together. We made some really cool constructions like boats and houses that were built to last. Others things were constructed, then eaten like our delicious pancakes!
