Thank you so much to Junior Achievement for organising these great lessons & to Marine Harvest for funding it. MĂle buĂochas.

Pancake Tuesday

Thank you to Fidelma who made her yummy pancakes for all of the children and staff ! We  had sugar, lemon, butter, syrup and spreadable chocolate ! It was delicious ! Thank you also to Edel for loaning us her electric hob – we really appreciate it !

Archaeology

We were delighted to have Caroline from the Donegal County Museum in the school. She brought with her a large Archaeology box. It was filled with old artefacts dating back to the Stone Age. All artefacts were found in Donegal and are housed in the Donegal County Museum. Caroline gave the children a brief history of Donegal using all of the old Artefacts. It ignited many questions and thoughts on our history amongst the children. We may have a budding archaeologist or two attending the school at the minute !

Friendship Day

We had a lovely time in Ballyheerin school on Friendship day. All of the children worked together to create beautiful Friendship cards for family members and for each other. We try every day to be better friends , to ourselves and to those around us. #Cairde

Dance Class

The children take part in Dance Class with MĂșinteoir Teresa on Thursday afternoons 12:30 – 1:30pm. The dance is based on keeping fit and healthy, and focuses on movement to music. The children explore different styles of dance with MĂșinteoir Teresa. It is lots of fun !

Aistear

We , in the Junior Class, actively engage in Aistear. We use ‘junk art’ during our Aistear time. To facilitate this we need your help! Could you please collect and send in old cardboard and plastic packaging that you don’t need. In the past we have made robots, sleighs, kites, hairdryers and many more things using bits and bobs that were collected. Some examples:

* Shoeboxes

* Egg cartons

* Kitchen roll tubes

* Bottle tops

* Yogurt pots

* Butter tubs

* Cartons
