Glen Valley Adventure School Tour

We all went to Glen Valley Adventure Centre for our school tour. The children loved the day – between Zip-lining, Driving! Rock climbing, Orienteering and Slip & slide. They would definitely like to go back again !


Mulroy Coastguard Station Visit

The whole school travelled to the Mulroy Coastguard Station in Downings. They were given a tour of the station and information about how it operates. The children loved seeing inside the station and they really enjoyed their visit.


A field trip with Aengus Kennedy

The children went on a geographical field trip with Aengus Kennedy and the Senior class from Drumfad to the Salmon leap. They learned so much from Aengus and they all really enjoyed the day.


Working it Out

The Senior class travelled to Rosnakill to take part in the Junior Achievement Working it Out day. It was a Sports and Maths event with children from all of the local schools. The children really enjoyed the activities and getting to know the other children.Thank you to Marine Harvest for funding the event.


Pioneers -All Ireland Champions

We were delighted to have a visit from the Pioneer All Ireland Senior Quiz Champions Manus McElwaine and John Dorrian with their perpetual trophy to the school. The two local men are a great example to the children of people who choose to become pioneers for life. This winning quiz team, from Fanad, last won the Pioneer All Ireland final was 40 years ago

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Our Senior class attended the Tráth na gCeist at Scoil Mhuire Caiseal. Well done to all who took part and to those who were on winning teams – Roisín & Emily. Maith sibh.


Food Dudes

All of the children have taken part in the healthy eating Food Dudes programme. We had phase 1 before Easter where fruit and veg was distributed to the children for tasting and eating. “Star Chasers” at the theatre

The Junior class went on a trip to the Griánán Theatre in Letterkenny with Aoife and Fidelma to see “Star Chasers” – a lovely play about a boy and his dad, going on an adventure to find the Northern Lights. We all enjoyed the day.


5-a-side Soccer

Congratulations to the children who represented Ballyheerin NS in the recent 5-a-side soccer tournament in Ballyare. The children played very well and tried their best. Múinteoir Treasa, Roisín and coach Harry were all very proud of the children. Maith sibh!


Human Being Myself Programme

As part of the link project, the Senior class participated in the Human Being Myself Programme with Bernie Wilson and Drumfad ns senior class. The programme is SPHE  based and focuses on self-confidence, self-esteem, positive thinking, healthy living and realising goals. This programme was covered under the Léargas Peace IV project.
