FAI Primary 5-a-side Soccer Competition

Ballyheerin NS Exhibition at the Fanad Lighthouse

Pancake Tuesday

Thank you to Fidelma who made her yummy pancakes for all of the children and staff ! We  had sugar, lemon, butter, syrup and spreadable chocolate ! It was delicious ! Thank you also to Edel for loaning us her electric hob – we really appreciate it !


Archaeology

We were delighted to have Caroline from the Donegal County Museum in the school. She brought with her a large Archaeology box. It was filled with old artefacts dating back to the Stone Age. All artefacts were found in Donegal and are housed in the Donegal County Museum. Caroline gave the children a brief history of Donegal using all of the old Artefacts. It

Friendship Day

We had a lovely time in Ballyheerin school on Friendship day. All of the children worked together to create beautiful Friendship cards for family members and for each other. We try every day to be better friends , to ourselves and to those around us. #Cairde


The Famine

We had great fun re-enacting the Famine drama with Patsy Kavanagh . The children learned so much about what it was like to live during the time of the Famine in Ireland in the 1840s. Thanks to Patsy for the lovely ballad singing as well !


Dance Class

The children take part in Dance Class with Múinteoir Teresa on Thursday afternoons 12:30 – 1:30pm. The dance is based on keeping fit and healthy, and focuses on movement to music. The children explore different styles of dance with Múinteoir Teresa. It is lots of fun !


Aistear

We , in the Junior Class, actively engage in Aistear. We use ‘junk art’ during our Aistear time. To facilitate this we need your help! Could you please collect and send in old cardboard and plastic packaging that you don’t need. In the past we have made robots, sleighs, kites, hairdryers and many more things using bits and bobs that were collected. Some examples: *
